Need HELP for Never-Ending UTI!!!

Post a new topicby AnnaNy13 on Tue Nov 06, 2007 1:53 am

Hi - I have had this 'bladder infection for what seems like ever - about a month now. I have had them in the past, and in 2004, was worked up for interstitial cystitis which I apparently do not have. I do have a prolapse, a 'grade 3 cystocele' which is a hernia of some sort, of the bladder, falling into the vaginal wall. I have been told I will need surgery to correct this problem, yet I lost my health insurance. I can't afford to really get new, and do not qualify for public insurance. I am really in a bind.

My primary care physician has me on Azithromax, 100 mg / day. He says I can take this for 2 months. I have allergies to penicillin and bactrim, and can't swallow large pills. Macrobid / Nitrofurantoin (?) puts out a capsule, which I opened and stirred the contents into applesauce, but I had the worst reaction to it. The pharamacist said I should not do that as it's a time-release product. So I'm on this liquid suspension / Azithromax. I am afraid it may not be working. At best, it was keeping the UTI 'at bay' but not 'curing' it. I have soreness and cramps, particularly after urinating, and the other symptoms that I have a UTI are present also.

I realize that no one can diagnose me over the internet, or prescribe meds for me, but I need a clue. I am wondering if others have had simialr problems and how they resolved them. I don't know what drug they can try next - my doc and the pharmacist both seem to think I've exhausted the usual possibilities here. I know I need to see a urologist but I lack insurance so that's difficult. I am just trying to find out what others with similar issues have done - Thanks.

I completely understand you--I also am uninsured and have a UTI that wont go away completely. I just take massive amounts of cranberry pills--especially before bed, and it seems to keep it sort of under control. My mom goes to the chiropractor and it works for her.

I must stress this, please, NO CRANBERRY! ...I know ...shock! But I promise you, it simply causes the urine to be more acidic which promotes the growth rate of 95% of UTI causing bacteria, so whilst the mannose that naturally appears in it will cause a period of relief, you will actually make matters worse by effectively feeding the bacteria.

I was ill for a long time before I did some research myself into what ACTUALLY makes things better and what I discovered over and over was that Cranberry is actually BAD for the condition (unless it is Proteus that you have).

I've been using Waterfall D-Mannsoe now for some time and have, in that time, been completely free of UTIs. It works by fooling the bacteria into latching onto it (instead of the mannose that you normally have in you body) and you simply pee them out when you go.

I feel like I'm talking to myself when I make these posts, but I promise you it is the truth. I really hope that you can learn from what I've found as I want to help people to get well, as I did.

Feel free to PM or eMail me if you need any more guidance, I've been learning alot in recent times and common myth seems to be absolutely the wrong thing to do.

Kindest regards,

Chiyaki x.

May I know where I can get Waterfall D-Mannose? Haven't heard of it and the name doesn't come up in my researches in the Internet on UTIs. May I also ask where you got this information? I also have never-ending UTIs (every month for the last 16 years). I've tried all doctors' suggestions but nothing seems to work. I am always on antibiotics or on treatment for yeast infections (which I get after the antibiotic treatment). It's a never-ending cycle and am feeling quite desperate. I know I should take charge of my health but am completely at a loss on how to overcome this. Even my gynecologists and urologists are stumped! I've recently bought Cranberry capsules and try to drink the tea, (according to my internet researches, that's the thing to drink with Uva ursi, goldenseal, marshmallow root, etcc) but now, I read from you that it isn't really good? I am confused. I would really appreciate any helpful advice...
