dry cough

Post a new topicby Guest on Sun Sep 15, 2002 11:54 pm

please respond doctor, back in 7/22/02..i had some acid reflux which resulted in bitter taste in the throat. now i have dry mouth and dry throat for two weeks already which
causes me to cough once in an extremely long while. my tongue is also dry, so i have some small white patches (just
2 patches..one on each side of the tongue. the patches might be irritation from my teeth) which also causes the small patches. i have it for 2 weeks already. i think the patches are hairy l...pokia (HL)

question is: does oral thrush occur slowly (say weeks?..or faster rate?) because of saliva has the ability to dis-infect bateria or virus? I am worrying that this might be thrush. i have tested negative for hiv antibodies up to 6 months. I noticed that if my mouth is watery or salivary, then the patches go away. I also have a small
flat pink (slightly red) spot on my right shoulder (about 1 cm in lenght and 1/2 cm in width).

if it is HL....should i be worried?

do I need more testing? i will see a doctor in 2 weeks. when does one have to test up to 1 year mark because I had two doctors told me to test again. thank you.

I don't remember your origional exposure. But a negative test at 6 months is reassuring. What yo have doesn't sound like HL or thrush. See a doctor to diagnose what's on your tongue. GR
