low testosterone and erectile dysfunction

Hi

I am a male of 26 years old. I have erection problem. My urologist diagnosed me with low AM testosterone (256 ng/dL). According to him, for normal sex and erection the testosterone should be around 350 to 400.

I wanted to know, how anatomicaly and chemically low testosterone affects/augments to erection problem?
