TRYING TO QUIT

Post a new topicby SPANKEDRITE on Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:14 pm

HI I AM NEW HERE, I DRINK TOO MUCH AND I AM TRYING TO QUIT OR CONTROL HOW MUCH I DRINK. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A DRINKER AT A YOUNG AGE. I HAVE AN ANXIETY DISORDER ALSO. THE TWO DO NOT MIX AD FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND I CAN REALLY HURT MYSELF OR EVEN WORSE DRINKING WITH MY MEDS. IS THERE ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE LIKE ME. I HAD TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL FROM DRINKING TO MUCH 2 TIMES IN THE PAST 4 YEARS. MY ANXIETY GOT REALLY BAD AND ALSO THEY SAID I WAS HAVING WITHDRAWELS FROM TOO MUCH DRINKING AT ONE TIME. WELL THAT IS ALL FOR NOW. :)

Hi there. You are not alone and it's nice to hear I am not either. I have OCD and have slowly been drinking more and more over they years. Sometimes I have control but sometimes I just go wild and drink way too much. This summer I have really cut back and enjoyed it. I went a little wild this weekend, though. So, I think I'm finally to the point where I want to quit or only drink once in a very great while. I have learned I can't drink and take medication. They do not mix. So, if I ever drink I don't take my meds.

From now on, though, I am determined to quit. I can't drink and take my meds at the same time, I've been parting too much for too long and it's not fun anymore. If it's not fun, it's time to quit.
